The cycling fever is rapidly escalating this summer with a number of upcoming domestic and foreign cycling races.

You will be able to follow one of the greatest domestic cycling stars, Tadej Pogačar, “at work” on Friday, June 18, at “his” race also known as Tadej Pogačar Cup and Plastika Virant GP. The race will traditionally start and end in the Komenda business zone.

The race or criterium in a 1,100 m long circle will take place in the Komenda business zone with the start and finish in front of the Plastika Virant headquarters. At 3.00 pm, the competition will start with boys and girls of different categories, followed by the younger junior cyclists, older juniors, younger and older female juniors, and women – Elite category.

The last to compete at 7:30 pm will be the male representatives of the Elite category. Each category will have an adjusted track length. In the men’s Elite category, the race will be just under 40 kilometers long (36 laps), and the winner will be the one who will collect the most points in the intermediate sprints (every third lap will count; scoring 5-3-2-1).

Once again we will be able to see some famous names from the world of cycling at the start of the criterium, so there should be no shortage of action and entertainment.

So on Friday, June 18, you are invited to the Komenda business zone, where you will be able to cheer for our best cyclists on one of the most exciting domestic cycling trials this year.
