Tadej Pogačar’s 1st place on UCI world ranking
Fabi Carvalho Švetak

Unbelievable, yet true; already in his second season among the cycling elite, Tadej Pogačar took first place in the world cycling rankings. Of course, all this is due to an amazing season and a big win in the Tour de France. The view of the ranking, where the two Slovenian cyclists reign in the first two places, is amazing.

Every 7 days, the International Cycling Federation publishes a ranking of the best riders according to the points that competitors gain in individual races throughout the season. Tadej took the first place after adding up all the points and winning the biggest Tour de France race and after the Giro d Italia ended and Primož Roglič’s points for last year’s Giro were erased. That Tour de France is the biggest race in the world is also confirmed by the uci points, as Tadej received 1000 points for the victory. On the Giro and Vuelta, the winner receives 850 points. In total, the points of receipt of the first 60 ranked in the total. The stage victory on the Tour is also worth the most points, as the winner receives 120 points (Giro, Vuelta 100 points) and the first 5 in each stage.
