It has been such a tough stage for all the riders on Tour de France. Incredible steep sections on the final climb and altitude over 2300 meters made it extremely hard for everyone. Stage was won by Lopez followed by Primož and Tadej. From the breakaway of the day, Richard Carapaz made the biggest impact on the final climb. Bahrain Mclaren dictated very difficult pace already on the Madeleine, where Tadej went first of the peloton through the line and took points for polka dot jersey, which is on his shoulders after the stage. He has still white jersey and second place in GC in the control.
Tadej was satisfied with the performance after the stage, although he lost some time to Primož and Lopez. Tadej said it was the toughest final of the race he has been riding, plus the altitude made its impact. Tadej will fight on in the coming stages.
Firstly, on Thursday there is another tough stage in Alps, then followed by little bit easier stage on Friday. Saturday will be one of the most important days on this year’s Tour de France with the only Individual Time Trial of the race. We keep on cheering for Tadej in the last stages of Tour!
