Cyclist Tadej Pogačar is the winner of the Bloudek Award for 2020 for outstanding international sports achievement. Bloudek’s awards are Slovenia’s highest awards in the field of sports.
Tadej Pogačar received another prestigious award for the incredible 2020 season. The young cycling star was the first Slovene to win the most prestigious cycling race in the world – the Tour de France, in a spectacular fashion.
Currently, the 2nd ranked rider on UCI World Rankings, was initially dedicated to football in his younger years but was persuaded to change the sport by former coach Miha Koncilja, who was looking for new members for the Cycling club Rog. The title of national champion in the time trial and numerous international successes are clear indicators that the decision to change the sport was the correct one.
By receiving the highest award for the field of sports in Slovenia, Tadej Pogačar succeeded his national team colleague Primož Roglič, who received the award in 2019.
