Today’s press conference at the Ljubljana Castle was an introduction to tomorrow spectacle with the start of stage 1 from the Ljubljana Congress Square at 12.15. Tadej Pogačar was invited to the press conference and answered journalists’ questions together with his teammates Jan Polanec and Luka Mezgec. Tadej is well and can’t wait for the race to begin, but at the same time hopes that his fans will cheer loudly along the route.
This year’s race, consisting of five stages totaling 808 km, will end on Sunday in Novo mesto. A review of the stages shows that, at least on paper, each day will be harder, and the third and fourth stages are likely to be decisive. The finish of the third is Idrija, and the fourth Ajdovščina. The race will be again broadcast on TV (SLO 2 and Eurosport 1) with a total duration of around 10 hours. Last time, over 40 million people saw the race directly and indirectly. This time again, the broadcast will take place in 120 countries all around the world, which will be a great promotion for Slovenia. 129 riders from 19 teams registered for the start.
The green jersey that Tadej will fight for is an ecological message too and the promotion of Slovenia as a nature-friendly country. It informs people from all over the world that we are still aware of the problem of pollution of our planet and are actively working against it.
