The surprise champion of the 2020 Tour de France will be using a Carthago c-compactline as the base camp for his races in future. The young Slovenian cycling star Tadej Pogačar has therefore encountered a winning brand: Both have had a successful start to 2021. At the end of February Pogačar won the UAE Tour, one of the first top events in the cycling calendar, and Carthago came first at the European Innovation Awards. Something else they have in common: Tadej Pogačar took part in his first professional race in 2008, the same year in which the first motorhome came off the production line in the new plant in Odranci / Slovenia.
- Top duo: Tour de France winner, and the brand with the winning touch
The premium sportsman and the premium motorhome complement each other perfectly. Racing cyclist Tadej Pogačar (22) hit the headlines in 2019, when he achieved an excellent third place in the Vuelta, the demanding tour of Spain. The up-and-coming star’s greatest success followed in 2020: He was the surprise winner of the Tour de France. At just 20 years of age, he was the second youngest winner in the history of the legendary race. As well as being top in the overall standings, the outstanding professional cyclist won three stages, the mountain classification and the young talent classification.
The successful and growth-oriented premium brand Carthago has been used to winning for years: the motorhomes have been serial winners in renowned competitions, be it the Motorhome of the Year or the European Innovation Award.
- Carthago c-compactline: the perfect base for the world-class sportsman
The professional sportsman decided to use a Carthago c-compactline I 141 LE Super-Lightweight as the base camp for his races. The A-class motorhome is slim and well-conditioned, like the racing cyclist himself, and just as designed for lightweight construction as his racing bikes. Inside, the racing cyclist can relax in the lounge seating group and enjoy refreshment from the functional kitchen, take a shower in the practical Vario swivelling washroom and recover in the single beds in the sleeping area. There is plenty of room for bikes in the rear garage, which is accessible from both sides. Clothing and equipment can be put into the large storage compartments in the living area and the double floor of the Carthago.
- The highlight of the 2021 bike racing season once again is the Tour de France
Tadej Pogačar has big plans again for the 2021 cycling year. There are many classic races on the schedule. The highlight of the season once again is the Tour de France, which is taking place from 26th June to 18th July. His accommodation for the trip is already booked: the Carthago c-compactline.
