At the moment, Tadej Pogačar has been preparing with his club in the Spanish seaside town Benidorm, where he has been diligently collecting kilometres for his second season as a professional cyclist. And as already his first season brought exceptional results, his team put him into the foreground and presented their plans for the coming 2020 season at today’s press conference. Naturally the journalists show the most interest in our cyclist, so the question at which »Grand Tour« we will see him could not be avoided. For 2020, Tadej plans to participate in the Tour de France.

Yet the Tour de France will be just the peak of the first part of the season. Right now, the team and all 28 riders and other support staff gathered at the two-week club preparations in Spain. Here the team prepared their race plans for all cyclists in the first part of the season. Tadej will spend most of January at high-altitude preparations in South Africa. His first stage race will be the Tour of Valencia in early February (5 February 2020). At the end of February, he will also participate in his “home” stage race UAE Tour, which is the first goal of the season. In March he will ride the stage race Paris – Nice, and then some spring classics in March and April. In May, at the time of the Italian Giro, high-altitude preparations will take place, followed by his participation in the stage race Criterium Dauphine and then his first participation in the Tour de France.

The current club preparations focus not only on trainings, but on all other relevant issues as well. These days Tadej was working to improve his position on both the road and time trial bicycle together with a group of experts (also Slovenians – Dr. Fonda). New sponsors who will support the athletes in the next year were also introduced to the team.
