Tadej Pogačar scores another wonderful victory at the Tour of Valencia. Stage 4 was decisive one and he was one of the favourites before the stage. Tough stage with 5 categorised climbs, where the final climb was really punishing with average of 12%.
Strong breakaway went from the start and was caught just on the final climb, with Greg van Avermaet(CCC Team) being the last man standing. Three kilometers ago Tadej decided to go on the attack and built the gap immedieatly. He sustained it until the end and managed to take a win with 6 seconds before Wout Poels(Bahrain-McLaren). His overall race lead is now 6 seconds before Jack Haig(Mitcheltcon Scott).
After the finish line Tadej told: “Today was a really hard day so we decided to work on the front near the end to get me in the perfect position approaching the climb. Jan made a really hard pull on the final climb and when he stopped I accelerated and went full gas until the end. I attacked on the steepest part of the climb as that’s where I was feeling good . It’s really something special and really satisfying after all the work done in the winter.”
One stage left in Tour of Valencia, which will be the one for sprinters and Tadej is with this just step away from winning another stage race!
